Conference Funding

ISLA offers two major funding programs to support faculty-initiated conferences, lecture series, and visiting artist events. Small Henkels Lecture and Mini-Conference Grants of up to $3,000 support smaller meetings or to co-sponsor larger meetings whose major sponsors are other departments, institutes, or centers on campus.  Large Henkels Grants of up to $20,000 are available to support major conferences that have significant costs to produce.

Be sure to review the application procedures for each program before submitting your grant request.

It is essential for all Henkels Grants that the application be drawn up and submitted by the organizing faculty member. Like our programs the support research projects, ISLA is selective when making conference funding decisions. Funding decisions are based on the event's intellectual merit, potential impact on the scholarship conducted within the College, timeliness, and feasibility.

Successful applicants should be sure to credit ISLA appropriately
