Purpose

ISLA offers large grants of up to $15,000 to support faculty research and creative work in three categories: arts, humanities, and social sciences. Arts and Letters Faculty in the social sciences whose work is more closely aligned with the humanities are encouraged to submit their proposals to the Large Grants for Research in the Humanities category. Please note: Recipients of the Large Grant for Research in the Social Sciences must submit a grant proposal to a major external agency within 18 months of receiving the ISLA grant.

All ISLA Large Grants are reviewed by an anonymous panel of Arts and Letters faculty. The review process takes about a month to complete.
