ISLA is sponsoring three PhD students to attend the Podcasting for Humanities Graduate Students: Storytelling for a Modern Audience from January 8–12, 2024. Offered by the National Humanities Center and the Digital Humanities Center at San Diego State University, this five-day virtual institute will create and support interdisciplinary teams of participants in the conception, design, and production of a 30-minute podcast. Participants will hear from leading scholarly podcasting experts, learn the technical components of recording and editing audio, and explore ways to incorporate podcasting into their pedagogy. Program Dates: January 8–12, 2024
This institute will be held over Zoom and Slack. The week features a mix of synchronous sessions and asynchronous work, largely taking place between 8am and 5pm Pacific Time, with additional podcast production work expected. Participants are strongly encouraged to participate from a time zone in North America.
