Panelists will discuss the issues arising from the text and performance of Tuko! Tuko! (running April 19-23 at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center) and its relationship to other movements of theatre in Asia.
Dr. Judy Celine Ick
Chairperson, Department of English and Comparative Literature, University of the Philippines, Asia Fellow and Visiting Research scholar at the University of Malaya; Vice-Chairperson of the Asian Shakespeare Association, an international organization of over 200 Shakespearean scholars and theater practitioners from Asia and around the globe; author of "Unsex Me Here: Female Power and Shakespearean Tragedy," articles on Shakespeare, performance, colonial education, and the history of Shakespeare in the Philippines. As an actor and dramaturg, she has worked with several academic and professional theater companies in the Philippines and Asia.

Dr. Xian Wang
Assistant Professor, Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Notre Dame. Professor of Chinese language, modern Chinese literature, film, popular culture, gender and memory studies; currently her research focuses on the issues of comfort women.
Dr. Tarryn Chun
Assistant Professor, Department of Film, Television, and Theatre at Notre Dame. Professor of modern and contemporary Chinese theatre, courses in Asian theatre, global theatre history, intercultural performance, adaptation, and intersections among theatre and other arts/media.
