Social Justice in the Marketplace

ISLA welcomes the submission of proposals from undergraduates with majors or minors in the College of Arts and Letters wishing to pursue research or creative projects exploring the relationship between market forces and social justice. Students may work alone or in teams and may design their projects independently or as part of a faculty research project.
Possible projects might include studies on the effects of globalization, social responsibility in trans-national corporations, workers’ rights and migrant labor, environmental standards, use and abuse of technology, health care, and rights of indigenous populations.
Funding may be used for travel, living expenses, lodging and the purchase of research and creative materials. Funding for the purchase of computers, cameras, and other electronic equipment will not be provided.
