Course Development Grants for Content-Based Classes Concerning Africa or Asia
Faculty whose primary areas of expertise are not related to Africa, China, India or Japan (as well as other geographical areas in Asia), but who have an interest in expanding into one of these areas for purposes of broadening our undergraduate offerings are invited to apply for these course development grants. Current faculty are encouraged to stretch their knowledge of a particular field into regions that present matters of international concern but are currently under-represented in the curriculum. For example, courses could be offered on African Sociology, Contemporary Politics of China, the Status of Women in Islam, or Family and Society in India, to name a few. This initiative would also complement the University’s aspirations to advance Notre Dame as an international academic community.
Applications should follow the Guidelines for Course Development Proposals in the General Course Development category.
