Conference, Visiting Lecturers, & Visiting Artists
Please note that ISLA has an academic conferences administrator who manages the college calendar as well as assists faculty with every step of the process of planning for a conference or lecturer, including space arrangements and budget. For more information contact Harriet Baldwin or Lauri Roberts at 246 O’Shaughnessy (Harriet Baldwin, 631-7864 - Lauri Roberts, 631-1468). It is advisable to contact this office as early in the planning process as possible.
Large Henkels Conference or Lecturer Series
Grants of up to $20,000 to cover the costs of an academic conference on campus, a lecture series, or a single, significant visiting lecturer. Grants are also available for visiting performers in the arts. Departments, institutes and interdisciplinary groups can bring scholars to Notre Dame for two or more days of public events including a lecture, colloquium, panel, or performance. Visiting scholars must be among the leaders of their field of a discipline. While all series may not result in a publication, the Institute expects that proposals will be designed with the goal of a lasting effect beyond a series of lectures or performances. In addition to the support you are requesting from ISLA, please list all other sources, the amount you are requesting from those sources, and contact information for those sources (name, email address, phone number).
All Large Henkels proposals require your budget is reviewed by Academic Conferences before your proposal is submitted. Please contact Harriet or Lauri as early in the planning process as possible.
