Ernest S. Frerichs Fellow and Program Coordinator

Fellowships are open to those in ancient Near Eastern studies, including the fields of archaeology, anthropology, art history, Bible, epigraphy, historical geography, history, language, literature, philology and religion or related disciplines from Pre-history, through the early Islamic period. The research period should be continuous, without frequent trips outside the country. Residence at the Albright is required except where indicated. The option to accommodate dependents is subject to available space at the Albright.

Type: Residential Fellowship

Amount: $24,000

The stipend is $15,981; remainder ($8,019) is for room and half-board at the Institute.

Tenure: 9 months

Deadline: October 1, 2009

Notes: Open to doctoral students and post-doctoral scholars. Recipient is expected to assist the Albright’s Director in planning and implementing the Ernest S. Frerichs Program for Albright Fellows, which requires a working knowledge of living and traveling in Israel.
